 Caregiver Resources - Meals

Seniors can enjoy healthy meals in senior centers across the state. Meals can also be delivered to older adults who are homebound.

Congregate Meals

Contact your local Area Agency on Aging for the location of a Senior Nutrition Site near you or for more information on home delivered meals. You can also call the Senior Info Line at 1-800-211-2116 (or 211).
The
Area Agencies on Aging run almost 300 senior nutrition sites throughout Oklahoma that serve healthy lunches Monday through Friday.

Generally, the only eligibility requirement is that the senior or his or her spouse is 60 or older. Meals are free, but a small donation may be requested.

Transportation is sometimes provided to and from the Senior Nutrition Site or can be arranged through your local Area Agency on Aging.

Home Delivered Meals

Home-delivered meals are provided by many of the senior nutrition sites operating under the Area Agencies on Aging. These meals are delivered by volunteers to seniors (60 and older) who are not able to leave their homes without assistance, are unable to prepare meals for themselves, and live within the designated delivery area.

Meals on Wheels/Mobile Meals

There are also home-delivered meal services that are not affiliated with the AAA Senior Nutrition Sites (such as as Meals on Wheels or Mobile Meals). These are often operated in partnership with religious institutions, civic organizations, businesses, and volunteers. More information can be found at www.mealcall.org.
