Resources and Support for Caregivers
Do you help your spouse to the bathroom during the night? Do you coordinate a parent’s medical appointments with your own schedule? Do you pick up items from the grocery store for an elderly neighbor?
A caregiver is a spouse, adult child, other family member, friend, or neighbor who offers support, assistance, and care to a person who lives at home but needs help due to age or disability.
Being a caregiver is an admirable and important undertaking, but can be stressful. Fortunately, there are many services that can help alleviate the stress of being a caregiver. Such services include adult day care centers, transportation, communal and home-delivered meal services, and caregiver support groups.
